Plan a Manual Location Choice for Geo Routing Campaigns

Start with the location the customer wants

Someone scanning a campaign near one branch may be arranging a visit to another. Before planning a Smart Business Router campaign, separate the location suggested by the campaign from the location the customer actually needs. A useful routing plan gives your team a clear answer for both situations.

Write down the selection rules

Create a short routing brief with the entry point, suggested branch, available services, and fallback destination. Include a visitor outside your normal area and a visitor whose location is unavailable. Confirm which rules your current setup supports before promising automatic behavior on the printed material.

Make changing the branch understandable

If your destination offers a location selector, label it with a practical instruction such as Choose a different location. Show recognizable branch names and enough address information to distinguish them. Avoid asking customers to understand internal territory names. If a selector is unavailable, provide a clear location directory or contact path.

Carry the choice into the next step

Walk through a sample journey: open the campaign, choose another branch, and start an inquiry. Check that the form, phone number, and confirmation still refer to the chosen branch. A selection that disappears when the visitor presses Contact creates extra work for both the customer and the receiving team.

Test without relying on a familiar phone

Ask another employee to try the journey from a fresh browser session and from an ordinary campaign link. Record the expected destination for each case before testing. Keep a named owner for routing changes so a service area update includes a review of the manual choice path as well as the automatic rules.
