Choose NFC Cards, Stands, and Plates by the Customer Handoff

Watch the interaction before choosing the format

The most useful NFC format depends on where the customer pauses and who explains the action. Observe a normal handoff first. Is a staff member beside the customer, behind a counter, or already moving to another task? That answer should guide the physical setup.

Use a card for a guided handoff

A portable card suits a staff member who moves between work areas. Decide who carries it and what they should say when offering it. Keep the invitation specific and optional. For example, explain that it opens the business contact page instead of simply asking someone to tap.

Use a stand where people naturally pause

A stand needs a visible, stable counter position. Put it within comfortable reach without blocking payment equipment or paperwork. View it from the customer side. If staff repeatedly have to move it into sight, the placement needs attention.

Review the mounting location for a plate

Before attaching a plate permanently, test the intended device on the actual surface and with the phones available to the team. Check the supplier instructions for that product. Make sure customers can reach it and understand what it opens. Keep a scan or written link option available for people who cannot use the tap path.

Assign a simple opening check

Ask the opening team to confirm that the asset is present, legible, and points to the correct page. Label branch specific assets internally so they do not get swapped during cleaning or events. A good handoff ends at the right destination regardless of which physical format started it.
